This section describes the resources I put the most effort into using and how these resources helped me.

Resources

Maia Kelley was my primary source. I called into the S hoping to get in contact with somebody from the hemophiliac center and received her e-mail address. From there I shot here a variety of e-mails and questions that would help me to better understand hemophilia and how it affects hemophiliacs. I thought that it was very helpful to contact a primary source like this because she provided me with insight into what hemophiliacs have to deal with on a day to day basis, that I wasn't immediately finding anywhere else. In addition she had up to date facts about local facts about hemophilia like there are 350-400 hemophiliacs in Washington state. She also had insightfully knowledge on the fundamentals of the disease and research being conducted by Seattle Children's Hospital.

I really focused on obtaining credible information and knew that the databases, like proquest, provided by the school, are great resources that I definitely wanted to utilize. However in addition to finding scholarly articles, I found that youtube, and videos, were exceptionally helpful in visually teaching me what my disease was all about. Especially the video on the coagulation cascade, although a bit long, if you watch it all the way through, the coagulation cascade is spelled out perfectly and how hemophilia affects that process becomes evident. For that reason I incorporated the video into this website because I knew how great of a resource it was for me.
